Why are you interested in receiving an online course scholarship?: I am interested in receiving an online scholarship because I am currently investing g my own money to modifying my curriculum by embed all core subjects into my social studies curriculum to meet the NEW C 3 Framework for Social Studies.

I have several vison boards which has been a central focal point for my success. I was planning on creating a new vision board with my students this coming 2018-2019 school year and build on it every year.

This will include 2 online resources accounts that I will also pay out of pocket. I was fortunate enough to obtain free appropriate magazines from 2 local libraries, and 2 more at the end on June to begin building the material students will need to create their fantastic Vison Board.

I am playing to have all my students create a vision board on the first 2 weeks of school, August 2018, and revisit them at the end of the year.

It would be greatly appreciated if I can receive a scholarship for the Aloha Happy Dreamers project and I would gladly share my students and I experience.

Why are you interested in receiving an online course scholarship?: I am interested in receiving an online scholarship because I am looking for clarity in truly defining my goals. I know what I want - but specifically how it looks is still unclear to me. I think with a focused project like the dreamboard I can finally make a defined path to my dream!

What is your experience with Dreamboarding? Please explain:: I've created collages (not specifically a dreamboard) with friends

What are your dreams, goals, hopes for the future?: A goal I have is to be a counselor. Whether or not in a school setting - I enjoy talking students through their problems and helping them find their own path to success academically, socially as well as emotionally.

What tools do you use to support yourself in creating dreams, encouraging yourself to pursue those dreams and holding yourself accountable?: Currently I mostly journal to hold myself accountable. I usually make a beginning of the month goal list to refer to. I am also finding new ways to learn by taking classes on skillshare or coursera online and reaching out to people or companies that inspire me.

As a leader in the education system, how do you inspire students to discover their dreams and encourage them to pursue them? What strategy do you use to hold them accountable?: This year I have tried to get my students to also set short term and long term goals in places they will always look - so their phones mostly. For one class I had them set a goal in their phone calendars so it sends them a reminder. This way when it pops up, whether or not they achieved the goal, they can at least remember at one time they set this goal and look at their past actions to see if they worked toward it.

What do you hope to gain from our Mastering the Art of Dreamboarding course?: Again, I hope to gain clarity as well as inspiration. Since my future goal is a bit broad, I would like to hone it in and become more specific into how I can use my talents and expertise in a role that is fulfilling and hopefully inspires others.

Why are you interested in receiving an online course scholarship?: During the first quarter of the school year, I teach The Four Agreements and The Alchemist. During these units we explore personal purpose and personal legend. I believe that incorporating a dreamboard into this unit would be priceless. I also focus more of my time on social and emotional health and well being over a strict academic focus because I believe once a student, or teacher for that matter, is socially and emotionally aligned, the academics and intrinsic motivation will follow. During my last quarter with my students, before they transition into high school, I have created a unit to create moral compasses and character quality identification to assist my students in identifying the tools within themselves to create their future by design. This is also a unit I feel that the application of a dreamboard will be incredibly powerful to assist my students in identifying what it is they truly desire in their future, one month from now, one year from now, ten years from now. I believe in the limitless power of visualization to create results!

What is your experience with Dreamboarding? Please explain:: *I have looked it up on Pinterest *I have done makeshift dreamboards during my summer school

What are your dreams, goals, hopes for the future?: Professionally my goal for the future is to increase social and emotional health and well being in my school and community. My personal goal is to increase my social and emotional health, well being, and structures in my personal life and relationships.

What tools do you use to support yourself in creating dreams, encouraging yourself to pursue those dreams and holding yourself accountable?:Increased identification of my intentions for my future and my dreams along with a visual would greatly support me. Doing an activity such as dreamboards along with my students creates accountability for me to share and track my forward movement alongside my students.

As a leader in the education system, how do you inspire students to discover their dreams and encourage them to pursue them? What strategy do you use to hold them accountable?: I focus on project based learning for students to have the opportunity to express and show what they have learned and/or how they have grown during a unit in a way that excites them personally. I have students create their own rubrics for how they will assess themselves and how they intend for me to assess their learning and growth based on their chosen creation/project.

What do you hope to gain from our The Art of Dreamboarding course?: I hope to gain the understanding of how to incorporate dreamboard creation into my social and emotional focus within my classroom. I also hope to gain the knowledge and understanding of how to use a dreamboard to create the greatest results and forward future movement.
